I learned to cross country ski on a Boy Scout camping trip, but spent the next 30 years downhill skiing. I rediscovered nordic skiing as an adult when I bought some Rossignol skis at a ski show and later some Atomic skate skis at a REI garage sale and was hooked. When my new girlfriend asked it I wanted to do the Birkie ski race, I knew we were meant to be together. We've spent the last 10 years driving across the midwest in search of snow. We've settled down in Cable Wisconsin for the best snow and best trails.
Combine skiing and shooting and you get the most fun you can have outside in the winter. Wisconsin Biathlon is growing rapidly and I encourage you to get RedBook safety certified so you can race.
As a diehard roadie and track rider, I never expected to become a mountain bike, but a cyclocross bike and gravel racing was the gateway to the trails. Now I rarely venture out on pavel roads with cars and instead enjoy the beauty (and safety) of wooded trails.
While I will answer fastest if you to comment directly on my blog posts, you can also contact me directly. I love to connect with folks that love the silent sports and being active outdoors
Send me a message, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
